Every Scout Needs and Deserves a Trained Leader

It is essential that Registered Adults complete both general and position-specific training. The general training includes Safeguarding Youth Training (formerly Youth Protection Training), Hazardous Weather, and AB506, and Position-Specific training, which must be completed within 60 days of your assignment.

If you have not yet completed your Committee Member position-specific training, you may complete this training online at the Program Details Screen – BSA Learn Center (must be logged in to access). The total duration for this training is approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes, and it can be completed incrementally over several days or weeks.

If you prefer classroom training, the Canyons District will be conducting classroom sessions in two parts at the Canyons District Roundtables. Part 1 will be held on October 9, and Part 2 on November 13. Each session is 1 hour long, and both parts must be completed to receive credit. The Roundtable trainings will take place at Cerro Villa Middle School (17852 Serrano Ave, Villa Park, CA 92861) in Room 205, starting at 7 pm. The topics covered will be the same as those in online training.

You have the option to complete the training online at your convenience or attend the classroom sessions at Cerro Villa Middle School in October and November. Regardless of the method you choose, it is important to complete your training promptly.

If you plan to attend the classroom training, please email the District Training Chair at
billwhittenberg@yahoo.com, by October 3.
