Effective Friday, February 27, 2026, the Citizenship in Society Merit Badge has been discontinued. Scouts will no longer be able to start requirements on this badge.
Those Scouts who have already started and completed any requirements for the badge will be allowed the rest of 2026 to complete the full badge and utilize it for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout. This is only for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout (Life Scouts).
Any other Scouts who started the requirements will not be allowed to earn the merit badge after the discontinued date of February 27th.
