Stay Informed – Attend Roundtable!

February Roundtable – Camporee Chili and Cornbread Cookoff
Attention all Units!
February Roundtable is the annual Chili & Cornbread Cook-off hosted by the Order of the Arrow. Troops who wish to participate should bring a home cooked chili and Packs should bring homemade cornbread.  Winners will be determined by the youth members of Koshare, our district’s chapter of the Order of the Arrow.

Troops will also be making their event selection to host for Camporee.

The OA will be providing bowls, spoons, water, and napkins. Once the tastings have been completed by the OA, the rest of the chili is for everyone to enjoy, so please join us for a great night of delicious chili and cornbread!

Troops get 2 points for hosting an event, and also get a point for bringing chili, they just get bragging rights for the best chili.

Packs don’t earn any points for Cuboree other than the Pack with the best Cornbread getting first dibs on fishing, so no they don’t need additional members.

Troops can earn up to 4 points at the Roundtable, 1 for Scoutmaster, 1 for Committee Chair, 1 for Senior Patrol Leader, and 1 for bringing chili. The Troops also earn 2 points for the Troop hosting an event at Camporee, but they are not required to sign up at the Roundtable, though it is helpful for us.

Roundtable is a monthly meeting for all Adult Leaders. An opening general session (usually about 30 minutes long) provides information relevant to all Scouters in the District. The next hour is devoted to specialized training/discussions, “breakout” sessions, on a specific topic, for Cub Scout Leaders and Scouts BSA Leaders to learn new information about the Scouting program.

Any and all Pack, Troop, and Crew leaders should be there. Come early and stay later for fun and fellowship!
