DESCRIPTION:All Canyons District \nBSA Packs\, Troops and Crews Youth and Adults \nare invited to participate in the \n2026 Orange May Parade \n“Orange You Glad It’s America’s Birthday!  \nCelebrating 250 Years!” \nMay 2nd from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. (Tentative) \n  \nParade is ONE MILE down Chapman and around Plaza in Historic Old Towne Orange \nEveryone will be holding American Flags and passing out recruitment flyers. \nSign up with District Commissioner\, Valerie Venegas vvenegasgwc@yahoo.com   \nOR text 714-401-6971 \n  \n*** All Scouts and Scouters must be in Scout Uniform to participate.  We want to look our best. \n*** This is a great way to show that Scouting is alive in our community and Orange County! \n*** Additional information and the exact street location on the route is TBA. \n*** Some Scouts\, BSA Units will be needed to hold banners during the parade in front of floats. \n  \nHistory of Parade: \nThe Orange May Parade\, originally called the May Festival Parade\, was a fixture in the City of Orange from 1933 until its last march down Chapman Avenue in 1991. Originally\, the parade marked the beginning of the Valencia orange packing season. It later evolved into a showcase of the many fine organizations that call the City of Orange home. Thousands of spectators lined the parade route to cheer on participants such as local schools\, churches\, businesses\, and philanthropic organizations\, instilling a sense of community and civic pride. \nThe Orange Chamber of Commerce brought back the Orange May Parade and is excited to continue with an even bigger and better event in 2025!
